Overview

About Natural Bee Pollen

Bee Pollen is the richest & most complete food in nature. Collected by the honey bee, bee pollen is a perfectly balanced natural multi-vitamin containing virtually all the essential nutrients necessary to sustain life. The human body is made up of 22 essential elements and pollen is the only food that contains each and every one of them.

Rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes and amino-acids, bee pollen acts as a natural energizer for the body and boosts the immune system. This perfectly balanced ‘super food’ has many other reported health benefits ranging from slowing the effects of aging on skin, to improving memory, and re-activating sluggish metabolisms.

The highest-quality bee pollen comes from the purest natural environments. Abeeco bee pollen is sourced from bees who work free-range surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and national parks on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island.

Abeeco prides itself in producing Bee Pollen which is 100% natural, untampered, not potentiated, GE Free, and is Pure New Zealand - as pure as you can get anywhere in the world.  Abeeco's Bee Pollen is quite different to most due to the purity of product.  Most bee pollen granules sold in dietary supplements are sourced from the USA and China.  Independent laboratories frequently find traces of heavy metals present in these bee pollens as a direct result of air pollution.  Our Bee Pollen is produced to the highest possible standard.  We only use GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) manufactures - two of New Zealands best......not that the manufactures have to do to much as the bees are doing virtually everything but putting the pollen into a convenient capsule!

Bee Pollen is acclaimed in the bible, the Torah, the Koran as well as ancient Chinese and Egyptian texts. Throughout time it has been prescribed by traditional health practitioners for its healing qualities. Ronald Reagan even swore by Bee Pollen as a major contributor to the excellent physical health that he enjoyed.

Did you know?

The worlds’ oldest man (as of November 2004) ate at least a teaspoon of honey and bee pollen every day. The US citizen died just 12 days short of his 114th birthday and was said to be still mentally sharp and physically healthy. He was also the Guinness record-holder for the oldest driver!

Bee Pollen is also know as Buckwheat Pollen, Pine Pollen and Pu huang.

Benefits

More than 40 research studies document the therapeutic efficacy and safety of bee pollen.  These studies have shown that a regular consumption of bee pollen can dramatically increase your energy levels & stamina, build up your immunity - increasing your resistance to disease and help return you to health more quickly following an illness.  Bee Pollen is rich in anti-oxidants which modern science has proven to slow the aging process and keep the body strong.

In addition, research studies have indicated that bee pollen may have a number of other therapeutic benefits, including:
Weight management - as it naturally balances hormones and chemicals in the body. It also improves the metabolism and helps manage food cravings.
Beautiful skin. In order to metabolize amino acids and Essential Fatty Acids into new healthy connective tissue, the body needs B vitamins and trace minerals. Bee Pollen is extraordinarily rich in most of the B vitamins and contains most trace minerals including high levels of zinc. Zinc helps your body produce collagen, which firms and smooths your skin. A deficiency can cause skin to sag and bag.
Supports fertility.  The unique benefits of bee pollen can be especially useful during the preconception period, throughout pregnancy and for rejuvenation after giving birth. Bee Pollen contains crucial nutrients for fertility and pregnancy, and for the prevention of neural tube defects. The general health improvements experienced by a regular intake of bee pollen all aid in helping the body to reach its maximum fertility.
Aids the reduction of cholesterol levels
Improved sports performance.  Research indicates that athletes have far fewer sick days when taking bee pollen.  This translates to more training days and therefore improved performance.
Supports a healthy prostate.  Studies show bee pollen reduces DHT, the hormone that starts to ramp up as you get older.  Low levels of DHT are critical for a healthy prostate.
Improved mental alertness
Improved digestion
Increases concentration and memory
Studies have shown that the consumption of bee pollen has helped many sufferers of allergies and hay fever to control their symptoms due to the presence of Quercetin in the pollen inhibiting the release of histamine in the body resulting in decreased hay fever and allergic responses. In one study (Middleton, 1981) 73% of hay fever patients averaged a 75% improvement when given bee pollen orally.

Where does Bee Pollen come from?

Bee pollen is essentially the male seed of a flower blossom that has been collected by bees and to which they add certain digestive enzymes. Pollen granules stick to the bees’ legs and other body parts as they help themselves to nectar inside flowers.  Bees have feathery body hairs and the females have brushes on their legs which they use to remove pollen that sticks to them. The pollen is then stored under the abdomen or on their hind legs for taking back to the hives. As the bee enters the hive the pollen is gathered using special collection nets which the bee rubs against.

One of the most interesting facts about bee pollen is that it cannot be synthesized in a laboratory. One teaspoon dose of pollen takes one bee working eight hours a day for one month to gather. Each bee pollen pellet, contains over two million flower pollen grains and one teaspoon contains over 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen.

Bee Pollen FAQ's

Q: What is the shelf life of Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Up to 3 years if the product is not exposed to light.

Q: How quickly will it work for me?
A: Clinical tests show that orally ingested bee pollen particles are rapidly and easily absorbed - they pass directly from the stomach into the blood stream.  Within two hours after ingestion, bee pollen is found in the blood, in cerebral spinal fluids, and in the urine.  The full effects of bee pollen are usually felt as early as 2-3 days after taking the first dose, but in a very fit and healthy person it may take longer.

Q: I'm a diabetic, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Yes.  The amount of sugar/carbohydrates in bee pollen is negligible and not enough to have any negative effect on a diabetic.

Q: I'm pregnant, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Yes.  Bee Pollen is simply a vegetable based food.  It provides most of the nutrients required during pregnancy but is not a substitute for a balanced diet.  If you're pregnant you may also want to try our Omega-3 Fish Oil which many studies have proven to aid infants brain and motor development if taken neonatally.

Q: I'm an asthmatic, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Yes in general.  Although rare, if one of your asthma triggers is pollen then taking bee pollen may induce mild asthmatic symptoms in severe asthmatics (however, this is very rare as the pollen is ingested, not inhaled).  If at all concerned then we suggest you start with one capsule a day for the first week and gradually increase the dosage week by week provided no symptoms expose themselves.

Q: I am allergic to bees, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Although there are many benefits of Bee Pollen, those who are allergic to bees should avoid bee pollen (and other bee products) just to be on the safe side.

Q: I suffer from allergies, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Yes in general.  See above for bee allergies which is discussed separately.

However, although very rare, if you have pollen sensitivities taking bee pollen may in rare cases induce a reaction.  If at all concerned then we suggest you start with one capsule a day for the first week and gradually increase the dosage week by week provided no symptoms expose themselves.

Q: I'm on medication for a range of complaints, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen with other medications?
A: Yes.  There are no known contradictions with medications.  Bee Pollen is simply a vegetable based food and therefore it will not interfere with any medications of any description.

Q: I'm a vegetarian, can I take Abeeco Bee Pollen?
A: Yes, bee pollen is a vegetable based food and is derived only from plants.

Q: Can my pets take this product?
A: Absolutely!  Animals need vitamins, nutrients and anti-oxidants just as we do.  See our Bee Pollen for Pets product for specific instructions.

"All thanks to ABEECO Bee Pollen".

Mrs Mabel Bird writes...

"Just a big thank you for Bee Pollen. I'm 80 now and I'm told I don't look anywhere near that - all due to Bee Pollen. I have used it for quite a few years now and wouldn't change my daily 3 capsules for anybody. Good luck Abeeco, you have been a blessing to all who use Bee Pollen".

"Take care and BEE Happy".

Kaye Cavey writes......

"I just want to let you know that during the last few years I've tried all sorts of herbs etc to help with those nasty menopausal hot flushes. I have now found with the bee pollen capsules that I've hardly had a power surge, feeling now after a couple of months that they are almost non-existent. Hoping they stay away!"

Ruth Stawbridge writes....

"I have been using Bee Pollen for about 12-15 years and recommend it to lots of people. I call it my "anti-virus pill", and seldom get any of the colds and flues that have hit so many people over the past few years."

Ivana Manojlovic writes....

"I've been using this product for the last 4 months.  I have to say I am very happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone.  A cheap way of staying alert all day and having heaps of energy.  Another great thing is I could take them while still breast-feeding and we all know how tiring looking after a baby is.  I am cautious not to take them too close to bedtime as I noticed it gives me trouble sleeping as I was full of energy.  I've stopped taking a number of other products as I am full of energy now.  Thank you Abeeco!!"
